We welcome current and retired Ontario Teachers and others who share the values for fairness and justice as set out herein.
We believe and we know that :
- Some pensioners are not entitled to pass along their survivor pension to a spouse upon death.
- Equal contributions made during a career of teaching should deserve equal benefits.
- Each pensioner should be entitled to confer a survivor benefit to his or her spouse at death.
- One survivor benefit should follow for the surviving spouse at death of each retiree.
- Political and institutional actions are necessary elements for the resolution and elimination of this long-standing
unfairness.
